Some Professional Activities

Lan has been running a range of private IELTS mentoring tutorials for those who want to pursue their study overseas including UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Switzerland, Singapore, Korea etc.

Currently, Lan is a Senior Lecturer at HANU (Formerly Hanoi University of Foreign Studies).
Lan used to work as:
- a teacher, Project No 322 - Predeparture English courses for MOET postgraduate candidates (IELTS and TOEFL preparation focused)
- an academic coordinator and Teacher at ACET 2003
- a coordinator and teacher of various English courses for Vietnam News Agency Training Centre (1998-2002)
- a project coordinator, Project No 422 - English for Vietnam Senior Government Officials (pilot program co-conducted by HUFS, Ministry of Interior Affairs, and Academy of Public Administration) 1994-1996

LAST CONFERENCES ATTENDED:

Fifth National Conference VTTN 16-17th January 2009 held by British Council Vietnam and MOET with paper presented entitled
"Tackling Common Pronunciation Errors of the Vietnamese English Learners"

Third International Conference on Learner Autonomy held at Kanda University of Foreign Studies, Japan 5-8 October 2007, with paper presented “Targeting for Learner Autonomy: What might a teacher do?”

Fourth VTTN December 2006 held by British Council and MOET with paper presented “Nurturing Learner Autonomy in the Vietnamese Context”. Won a 2 week trainer training course at Norwich, UK, summer 2007

Third VTTN (Vietnam English Teacher Training Network) December 2005, paper presented: “Essential Pronunciation in the Vietnamese Context”. More than 600 participants from 14 countries were present. Wonderful Professional Events.
